Home on the Avenue


Just north of Boston, across the Charles River.  A college town, home of Harvard, MIT, and the Head of the Charles Regatta.  A place where you can walk or take public transit to almost anywhere.  We were both city kids.  We like living in a high-rise in the middle of a city, where you can walk to the store, the restaurant, the theater, the movie.  So it snows now and then.  No big deal.  We don't shovel or plow; we just walk through it. 

This place is chock full of restaurants.  We try out new ones whenever possible.  Here's the list of restaurants we've been to lately. 

When we first moved from New England to Texas in 2000, a lot of things seemed odd, and I tried to capture those observations in The Tales of Texas. When we moved back in 2011, again some things seemed a little off, unusual or unexpected to our senses coming back from a dozen years in Texas.  Well, again, I am trying to capture those odd observations in a new series, A Land Without Rs
