For those of you too young to remember, there was a terrible evening soap opera series in the 80s. Actually, there were many terrible evening soap operas in that era, but Falconcrest was truly one of the dumber ones. Several families battle for control of the great vineyards and the great wineries in the valley. Lust, greed, infidelity, pride, arrogance, revenge, more greed. You know, typical family entertainment.
The series actually used a picture of a Victorian gingerbread hilltop house, which I think was the Spring Mountain winery and then became known, informally at least, as the Falconcrest Winery. I don't recall the details particularly--they weren't all that interesting--but we did visit it once. For the scenery, not the wines, I assure you.
