Not local but funny anyway

Nothing to do with Texas, really, but funny anyway. Remember the game show from the seventies, "The Newlywed Game?" Four couples are asked questions that newlyweds might or might not know about each other and get points if their answers agree. On the old show, the questions were either innocent or coy. Does he like the toilet paper to unroll on the top or the bottom? Or, Where is the most unusual place you ever "got romantic?"

The new show is more up to date. For instance, on the new show, the questions are slightly more, well, direct. A sample question for the bride. They bring out six babes dressed in various costumes: nurse, schoolgirl, businesswoman, athlete, earth mother, hooker, things like that, and the bride has to predict which of them the groom would choose. Or, a question for the husband, How many boyfriends did your wife have before she was married? The answers to that one, by the way, ranged from three to twenty-four. (Guess things haven't changed that much since the "if it moves, fondle it" generation.)

But the main difference between the old and the new is the prizes. On the old show, the winning couple got stuff that you would expect newlyweds could use, like living room or bedroom suites of furniture, appliances. On the new show, the winning couple gets a Sony Playstation 2.

Ta-dum.
