Tallest One Wins
Compared with New England, especially compared with Coburn Woods, this part of Texas is relatively bare of trees. There are just very few trees. And there are certainly no large trees. Live oaks get up to reasonable size, but more in diameter than in height. Few others do.
Driving down the flat farm roads, you just don't see many trees at all. On the other hand, there's always some man-made structure visible on the horizon, at least around here. I think the new state tree is the cellular telephone antenna tower.
